The Luminary Cloud API and Python SDK are Early Access features that are still under development. View the Luminary Cloud Early Access Terms. The interface may change, and you may need to migrate or discard scripts and configuration files multiple times before v1.0.0 is released. In the future, migrations may also be necessary when upgrading to new major versions of the SDK (e.g. v2.0.0).

This SDK release includes some behind-the-scenes changes to prepare for upcoming features.

This is a required upgrade for all users, you will not be able to use the API with older versions of the SDK. This new SDK version contains breaking changes, see the Migration Guide for more details.

Migration Guide

Upgrading to this SDK version will not require any code changes to your existing scripts, but any simulation parameter JSON files previously downloaded from the web app will no longer work. You will need to re-download them in order to create new simulations. You can do this by opening the desired project in the web app and selecting Download simulation parameters (API use only) in the “More options” menu of the right-hand sidebar.

No other changes or migration steps are necessary for this release.
